Citrus High School Clubs & Activities

Academic Team - A Jeopardy style team competition vs. LHS and CRHS. The All County Team will represent Citrus County at the state competition at Disney in April. See Mr. Wyka in 314 or email
Band - Exists to excel. Mr. Rankin gives the band students every opportunity to score highest marks in competition and in the classroom. See Mr. Rankin in the band room or email
Biology Club - The BioClub is a service/interest club to support the acitivites of the CHS Science Department and to offer out-of-class experiences for students with an interest in Science. See Mr. Trescott in 369 or email
Chorus - The Mission of the CHS Chorus department is to support and promote excellence through the development and appreciation of the choral arts by providing opportunities for a variety of learning and enrichment activities for our students and community. Throughout the school year the CHS Chorus presents a themed Fall Show, a Holiday concert, field trips and tours, festivals, and a Spring Variety Concert. The membership dues are $30 for the entire year. This includes uniform rental and a chorus T-Shirt. See Mr. Edel in W 109 or email
Dance Club - The Dance Club is open for students interested in working together to promote school spirit. We work together to promote leadership and skill. See Ms. Cummins in 206 or email
CHS Drama - The CHS Drama Club exists to provide students the opportunity to participate, explore, and excel in all aspects of theatre arts. Students interested in "all things theatre" are encouraged to join. The club strives to include every student, no matter what their abilities. Throughout the school year, the CHS Drama Club presents a straight play, a competition one-act, a musical, and several other student productions. Club meetings are the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. The membership fee is $25 and includes a troupe t-shirt. See Ms. Neander in 306 or email
FCA - The Dance Club is open for students interested in working together to promote school spirit. We work together to promote leadership and skill. See Ms. Cummins in 206 or email
CHS FFA - FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.See Ms. Spivey in the Ag Room, email or check out the CHS FFA Website.
Guitar Club - The CHS GuitarClub watches concerts, plays musical instruments, and discusses music. See Mr. Philipson in 102 or email
Interact Club - Interact is a Rotary International service club. At CHS interact is active in the school beautification and recycling programs. The club is intended to develop leadership skills and personal integrity. See Mr. Myers or email
JROTC - Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. Students learn the importance of Military drills, standards, code, life and dress. Col. Yamrose and CMSgt Lepird teach the ROTC program. See Col. Yamrose in C309 or email
Key Club - A community service group that aids the needs of our community through service projects sponsored by Kiwanis of Inverness. See Ms. McClain in Guidance or email or Ms. Fulton in Room 339 or email.
Link - Link allows high school students to provide support and encouragement to middle school and new students which allows for a successful transition to CHS. See Mr. McLeod or email.
National Honor Society - High GPA, community service are major priorities for National Honor Society. See Mrs. Stanley in Main Office or email.
S.A.D.D. - Students Against Destructive Decisions is dedicated to raising student awareness about the dangers of decisions- ranging from drugs and alcohol use to texting while driving. SADD works with Partners for a Substance Free Citrus County. See Ms. Cummins in 208 or email.
Sign Language Club - The Citrus Sign Language Club exists to provide students with the opportunity to meet after school to explore American Sign Language and learn the official language of the deaf and hard of hearing. Meetings are held every other Wednesday at 2:45 in the Media Center. See Mrs. McClure in guidance or email.
Spanish Club - The Spanish Club promotes understanding of Spanish culture by foods, folklore dances, history, games and field trips. See Mrs. Thompson or email.
Student Council - Exists to provide a democratic forum in which students can address school related issues. It also provides leadership opportunities and community involvement projects. See Mr. Tremante or email.
SWAT - Students Working Against Tobacco is Florida's statewide organization working to mobilize the youth to assist in deglamorizing Big Tobacco. The Club is a united movement of empowered youth working towards a tobacco free future through AD campaigns. See Mrs. Gibbs in 600 or email.
Thespian Troupe #4405 - Citrus High School's Troupe #4405 is an affiliate of the International Thespian Society and is dedicated to "making education and arts programs places for good theatre and to honor those students who do theatre well". Students become eligible for membership after earning ten points through work on productions, drama functions and by participating in two full-length productions as a member of the cast or crew. No one can be elected into or denied membership if they fulfill the induction requirements. The one-time lifetime membership fee is $45 and includes a thespian pin, ID card, and troupe hardware. Tri-M - Citrus High School's Tri-M Chapter #5611 is an affiliate of the International Music Honor Society. The three Ms stand for Modern Music Masters. GPA driven and community service based, the purpose of this organization is to inspire music participation, create enthusiasm or scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, and promote leadership in the music students of our school. The one-time lifetime membership fee is $40 and includes a Tri-M pin, ID Card, and shirt. See Mr. Edel in W 109 or email.
Turbulence - CHS literary magazine. Publishes one magazine each year. It's entirely student run with a student editorial board. Submit original poetry, stories, photos, art, original song lyrics, and non-fiction writing. See Mr. Harper in E109 or email.
Video Club - New this year is the Video Club. If you enjoy working behind the camera and shooting live footage for editing and posting, this club is for you. See Mr. Philipson in 102 or email.
